What to Expect: A Day in the 18th Century
At Gregory Creek Homestead, we don’t just tell history—we live it. Our dedicated volunteers, portraying 18th-century settlers, bring diverse skills and interests to every gathering. When you visit, you might find:
- Period Cooking: One of our talented volunteers is always cooking period-correct food over the open hearth. The aromas alone are worth the visit!
- Traditional Crafts: Watch demonstrations of essential skills like spinning, weaving, and dyeing.
- Entertainment & Education: Volunteers often share period music or organize historical games to play with visiting children (and adults!).
Every visit offers a unique glimpse into the daily life, challenges, and skills of the Backcountry settlers.

The homestead is open to the public once a month, from April through December.
- When: Usually the Third Saturday of the month.
- Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- Admission: Free to come by! Donations are gratefully accepted and help support our important educational programs.
