Dr. Lisa Mozer is a descendant of family members that survived lifetime labor of enslavement in Statesville, and she works with community members advocating for Black historical landmarks to be included in the city’s sustainable preservation framework. A graduate of Rowan University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Kennesaw State university, Dr. Mozer is a retired educator, and she retired from the Air Force Reserves at the rank of Master Sergeant.
